Blazemark Pre-incident Planning Software

Blazemark was designed for pre-planning and communicating pre-incident plans. As first responders, we know that in a crisis, clear, consistent information will give a first responder the tactical edge. Maybe even the edge that saves lives (we helped write NFPA 1620). No longer do first responders have to worry about data from different users, paper binders, desktop systems, or “stove piped” corporate systems being non-existent or out of sync. Your users begin with intuitive and simple data entry, and then turn it into useful information as you organize and tag certain aspects for rapid situational awareness during an incident.

“… we helped write NFPA 1620.”

Hydrant Preplan Markers
We have been in business for close to a decade and all our team has volunteer or career emergency responder experience. We have been in your shoes, trying other products for preplanning first without much success.  None of the products were web based, nor came close to being NFPA 1620 compliant.  We found significant limitations around how you really need to look at a “structure” or even a transportation hub. All of this led us to frustration and to build our own software with an industry leading development team.

Our Blazemark preplan product provides the first-in officer the immediate information necessary to keep his/her crew safe, and it provides responders with the detailed planning information needed to properly manage larger scale incidents. Our scalable solution is designed to help prevent an incident from turning into a larger scale event. We built Blazemark to meet our demanding needs, and are constantly improving its capabilities.

Corporate clients pay premium dollars to keep their facilities safe using our software and services. We are after all firefighters first, and look after our own in order to ensure “Everyone Goes Home Safe”, and that starts with pre-planning.

The software is a secure subscription cloud based product that has been deployed globally in departments both large and small, volunteer, career, or combo as well as by entire county systems.  The pricing for municipal departments is attached.

Blazemark enables you to:

  • quickly develop an incident action plan
  • communicate effectively with incoming units
  • maximize firefighter and officer safety
  • increase your fire and police department’s effectiveness
  • lower your insurance premiums
  • create a facility management plan with forensic capabilities to document pre-loss
  • lower your community’s ISO rating

Blazemark allows easy interoperability between departments. Any department using Blazemark can designate that neighboring departments are permitted “read-only” access to their preplans — it’s that simple. This is equally true for fire, police, EMS and emergency management organizations – along with business owners whose buildings are being preplanned. Blazemark is equally effectively whether you need to preplan buildings, or transportation facilities such as major intersections, railyards, tank farms, and harbors.

Blazemark is also useful for site maintenance and response personnel to identify key equipment, valves, and other critical items needed to handle day-to-day emergencies in the plant. It is a great tool to inventory site confined spaces and communicate them to site personnel and emergency responders in compliance with OSHA requirements in 29CFR1910.146

You can create preplans many different ways to suit the complexity of your needs:

  • One preplan per structure,
  • Multiple structures per preplan
  • One or more floors as a structure

Organizations

The Organization is the “owner” of the preplan. Typically a fire/police department, a municipality, school district, university, a manufacturing facility, etc.

The Organization can have one or more groups of users, depending on the size of the organization.

Each organization will have many preplans under their jurisdiction.

Users and Groups

Once an organization signs up to use Blazemark, they are able to maintain their own group of users. The designated Group Admin(s) can administer the sign-up/registration process, and can control the user roles.

Some users have full authorship ability, while others are read-only.

Custom Preplanning Services

Getting started pre-planning is easy but can become overwhelming due to volume, lack of expert resources or complexity of the target hazard.  We can provide you expert consultants for fire protection engineering and emergency planning.  You can choose to accompany your Blazemark subscription with our experts conducting the preplanning of targets or we can conduct one-time or ongoing audit reviews of your plans.

“…providing the resources needed to ensure that there is a minimal interruption to their business should an emergency response occur.”

All work is performed by trained and experienced emergency response officers under the supervision of a Professional Engineer in Fire Protection Engineering (currently registered in PA, NJ, WY.) who has over 40 years of fire service experience at more than 11,000 incidents, and has been on teams involved in the design of millions of square feet of new industrial and commercial construction and numerous renovation projects.

The preplanning process benefits the community as well as property/business owners by providing the resources needed to ensure that there is a minimal interruption to their business should an emergency response occur, while fostering a working partnership with the local first responders through planning and education.  Additionally, some property insurance companies offer a rate discount if a pre-plan has been developed. Pre-planning has a significant impact on your ISO rating.

Pricing for this service is based upon the square footage preplanned and can be provided to you upon request.  Typically, this cost is covered by grant funding, the emergency service or the property owner.  Our staff would be willing to help you present to entities in your area which you wish to be involved in your preplanning goals.

Tabletop / Exercise Training

Maybe you want to preplan or just completed it for a target hazard.  How will you educate your stakeholders and prepare them for possible scenarios and appropriate response?  Are you required to, prepared to, or looked upon as an expert to hold a tabletop or large scale exercise?

We have been involved in instructing ALL HAZARD preplanning to industry, government and responders throughout the world.  We have accomplished this with hands on and in classroom university settings, at major industry conferences and through regular contributions in written periodicals.   We not only serve on the NFPA 1620 Pre-Incident Planning Committee but our Principal Fire Protection Engineer is also the current Committee Chair.

“Are you required to, prepared to or looked upon as an expert to hold a tabletop or large scale exercise?”

Allow our staff to be thorough and spend the time to identify the hazards that could present serious risks to responders, and provide the tools for you to understand what could go wrong when you arrive at the facility to handle an emergency.

Pricing for this service is based upon size, scope, and length (lecture, half-day, full-day or multi-day) requirements and can be provided to you upon request.  Typically, this cost is covered by the emergency service or the property owner.  Our staff would be willing to help you present to entities in your area which you wish to be involved in your preplanning goals.
